Just moments from Manhattan Beach, when a burst kitchen pipe flooded this 5,000 sq ft home, the

owners chose not to simply repair the damage — they used the moment to completely reimagine their

space. Avera Planning & Design was brought in to lead a full redesign, transforming the house into a

brighter, more refined coastal home.

Ceilings were raised, the layout was reworked for better flow, and every finish was replaced. This

redesign also brought together influences from across the world, giving the home a character that

feels both global and deeply personal. Hand‐selected marble from India introduced a warmth and

luminosity that anchors the entire ground floor, while the German‐engineered kitchen added

precision, clean lines, and a level of craftsmanship that’s rare in American homes. The combination

created a balance of softness and structure — an aesthetic that feels distinctly international yet

perfectly suited to coastal California living.

Much of the design development took place remotely, allowing Avera to draw on international design

sensibilities without the limitations of geography. Detailed digital coordination, clear documentation,

and a tightly managed workflow meant decisions could be made seamlessly across time zones.

This blend of European refinement, Indian materiality, and American coastal architecture gives the

residence a unique identity — a home that feels familiar, yet unlike anything else in the neighbourhood

— thoughtful, functional, and beautifully coordinated. A project that reflects Avera’s approach to

create a space that finally lives up to its full potential. It’s a home that now works, flows, and feels

exactly as it should.
